E’ vero che non è la mia prima volta in Toscana, anzi, Sketchbook Toscana 2021 cerca di guardare la “toscanità” dell’immaginario collettivo dai nuovi punti di vista.

Quest’estate abbiamo scelto insieme a voi i soggetti da ritrarre…

Abbiamo disegnato in diretta giorno e notte ovunque…

Abbiamo guardato Firenze, gli strafotografati piazza della Signoria e Piazza del duomo da un punto di vista insolito al parco delle Cascine sulle sponde di fiume Arno…

Abbiamo camminato in mezzo ai fiorentini mescolandoci con la folla del lunghissimo Mercato delle Cascine, il più grande di Firenze…

Infine abbiamo visitato Vinci, la patria di Leonardo. Come resistere a questi mini album 3×3 cm confezionati a mano?Sono i conterranei di Leonardo e non vedono l’ora di raccontare i nuovi viaggi. Scrivimi e proponi la prossima meta!

Da questo viaggio ho preso con me dei souvenir: fiori, foglie e bacche delle piante endemiche. Con il tempo sono diventati la parte dell’album per trasmettere al meglio lo spirito della terra che ha dato alla luce i grandi artisti del rinascimento Lonardo da Vinci, Sandro Botticelli, Filippo Brunelleschi, Donatello e tanti altri ancora.

It’s not my first time in Tuscany (Italy), that is why I decided to dedicate Tuscany sketchbook 2021 to the places and atmospheres of this region seen and sketched from the different point of view.

This summer we have chosen together the places to sketch…

Thanks to streaming we sketched toghether in real-time night and day …

We saw Florence, Piazza del Duomo and Ponte vecchio from the different point of view in the Cascine park near Arno river.

We also walked among the people of Florence visiting Cascina Market, on of the longest of the Europe.

They come from Vinci, like Leonardo. These mini handmade sketchbooks 3×3 cm purchased in Leonardo’s native town are waiting for the new trips to tell. Click here and suggest the destination!

Polar incontra aerografia in Art2Wear Polar X

Quest’anno abbiamo bisogno come mai di morbidezza e confort. La sofficità del polar incontra aerografia in Art2Wear Polar X. Le morbide linee dell’aerografo incontrano il morbido tessuto castorino.

Per ogni look ho creato un ambiente onirico e surreale in tinta. I colori e linee sono morbidi e sfumati tipici di pittura con aeropenna.

La collezione “Polar Experience” si evolve così in “Polar X” che nasce nelle grigie e fredde mattinate di Torino e nelle sue nebbiose ed umide sere d’inverno per riempire la vita di morbidezza, caldo e colori decisi.
Azzurro! Ampio cardigan “ruota”, gonna altezza ginocchio con cerniera asimmetrica e borsetta in polar “castorino” azzurro celeste.

Eterno beige. Beige morbido o estremo? Con o senza citura? A te la scelta! Abito altezza ginocchio e borsetta in polar “castorino” beige chiaro.

Scintille di rosso. Il completo rosso è composto da pantaloni palazzo, top ed ampio spolverino ruota in pile castorino rosso con inserti a contrasto sulle maniche rigorosamente il polar.

Dettagli che contano. Borsette in castorino celeste e beige completeranno i look quotidiani, sportivi ed outfit ricercati da cerimonia.

Pronti per 100 giorni a regola d’arte con the 100 day project 2021? A partire dal 31 gennaio 2021 vi invito ad esplorare i confini della creatività insieme ai numerosi artisti italiani ed internazionali.

Il mio progetto è acquisire la padronanza di aerografo.
L’insana attrazione verso il compressore è nata in me tanti anni fa grazie a “Blade runner” versione 1982. La scena in cui Pris, una replicante donna, si trucca con l’aerografo mi ha segnata per sempre. Da quel gesto dissacrante e nello stesso tempo surreale e magico capì come voglio sentirmi creando la mia arte.

Ecco il mio aerografo. Mi ha già fatto vivere un po’ di momenti di pura disperazione quindi promette bene.

Partiamo dalle basi: di che cosa si tratta?

Aerografo (o aeropenna) è uno strumento che viene utilizzato per spruzzare vernici nebulizzandole tramite aria compressa. Una piccola penna o pistola viene collegata ad una fonte d’aria in pressione (normalmente un compressore). Viene usato per produrre linee molto sottili, campiture di colore uniformi e toni sfumati.
L’utilizzo dell’aerografo viene chiamato aerografia. Quest’arte sviluppatasi alla fine dell’Ottocento in realtà ha radici molto più profonde. Già nell’antichità, grazie a delle cannucce, si usava spruzzare il colore sugli oggetti. Molto utilizzato negli anni ottanta per le illustrazioni pubblicitarie, oggi l’aerografo viene usato per le decorazioni di supporti plastici e metalli come caschi, auto e moto, ma anche per l’applicazione del make-up e smalti per le unghie, decorazione di dolci, tintura delle stoffe, nel body painting ed infine nella pittura.

E’ ora di conoscere il mezzo.

Lo spessore e trasparenza vengono regolati attraverso la combinazione tra il flusso dell’area e flusso di vernice, distanza dalla superficie e velocità del movimento del braccio. Semplice, no? Magari!
Ecco i movimenti base: punto, linea e sfumatura. Centrare il punto desiderato della superficie all’inizio non è proprio facilissimo, ma con costanza si impara tutto.

Ora passiamo alle forme: sfera, cubo, piramide… chi più ne ha più ne metta. Ed ecco finalmente la prima opera. Che emozione!

Infine la parte più critica: la pulizia. L’aerografo necessita della pulizia quasi di continuo sempre ed in ogni caso. Devi cambiare il colore? Pulisci! Non esce l’area? Pulisci! Devi ritirare l’aeropenna? Indovina un po’… esatto: pulisci! La pulizia “definitiva” con smontaggio e re-assemblaggio completo ogni volta prima di ritirare l’aeropenna. Sono partita da 1 ora, ma molto presto sono attivata a 20 minuti.

La pulizia dell’aerografo richiede il suo completo (o quasi) smontaggio. Se anche solo un minuscolo dettaglio è fuori posto l’apparecchio non funzionerà. Se ad esmpio non esce l’area dall’aerografo è quasi certo che il grilletto non è stato inserito correttamente.

My project is to learn airbrushing. Let me explain you the why.
Blade runner 1982. Do you remember Pris and her make-up? The moment I saw the girl airbrushing the black eye shadows I understood how I want to feel making my art. That moment my passion for airbrushing was born.

Let’s start from the begining.

What is airbrush and why it is called this way? Aitrbrush is a small, air-operated tool that sprays various media, most often paint but also ink and dye, and foundation by a process of nebulization. Airbrushing is a way of painting using the airbrush.
Now it’s time to meet my airbrush and discover the basics.

My airbrush came for Christmas 2020.

It is a double action control gravity feed airbrush.

Gravity feed means that the airbrush has a paint cup at the top and the gravity pulls small amounts of paint into the mixing chamber where atomization occurs. Double action or dual independent control means that the trigger manages the paint volume and airflow. When the trigger is pushed down, the air passes through the airbrush. When you pull the trigger backward, paint begins to flow out. The more you pull the trigger the more paint is delivered. This allows users to control the amount of paint coming out of the airbrush and flow of paint can be adjusted even while painting.

Doing exercises.

These are the basic airbrushing moviments: dots, lines and curves.

These are the basic forms to learn how to airbrush the shadows and volums. The first and the most important is the sphere.

Now let’s spend a few words about cleaning. Airbrush neads to be cleaned very often: to change the colour, to add the colour and before you put it away.

The most long cleaning is one after you finished to use the airbrush. It needs you to diassemble and re-assemble it. Every detail is important. Is even a smallest part of the airbrush is out of place it will not work.

My artworks and me will be there to celebrate with you the creativity as a source of live and rebirthing.

The project
“Breaking the rules” is a project that destroys the way of making art. It’s a difficult and painful way to get out from the “confort zone” and to use the media, compositions and ideas never used before to keep on growing as artist and as a person.
The project started in 2015 with the first artwork made for a collective that invited the artists to use the media never used before. The Russian artist mixed up Roy Lichtenstein’s pop-art and Rene Magritte’s surrealism.
Every year the new artworks keep on “breaking the rules”.

Home made: lockdown in art

“Home made: lockdown in art” is a sketchbook made of more than 30 illustrations 17,5 x 6,5 cm drawn from 10th March to 10th May 2020. Some artworks of this series will be on the “Matite in viaggio 2020” collective in Venice (Italy).

Is it possible to travel even when you stay home to stay safe? Is it possible during the lockdown to go through the home space to go forward? I say “yes” and accept the challenge!
My lockdown started 10th march 2020. I kept on sketching all that time. This is the chronicle of my interior journey to the far and close places I have never seen but I would like to.

Let me introduce my cats. Their names are Susan and Brie and as well as us they shall stay at home for the lockdown. They pass almost all day on the carpet. Looking at them I see the Egyptian sphinxes. There must be a reason why people revere the cats since the ancient times.

It’s Flash-mob time! There are 2 or 3 flash-mobs every day: first we sing to be brave, than we applaud to the doctors, than we dance, than we place music instruments and make noise … It seams to be on carnival of Rio de Janeiro but we are on the balcony of our homes. It is lockdown, there is COVID-19 outside.

Cactus are the unique plants to survive on the balcony that watch south. This little cactus in the spring sun seams to remember its motherland: the desert. It would be great to go their to sketch that surreal lunar landscapes live.

A puddle on the terrace of my home generously left by the huge Turin rain reflects some weeds. It seams to me to see the fishermen houses of Marano Lagunare near Venice reflected in the water.

The face masks are scarce, so I made them for my family. Finishing the last one the memories of my travel to Turkey with my mother back to my mind. I remember the images of belly dancers with the transparent veils on their faces.

On the balcony in a sunny spring day I talk to my neighbour, during the lockdown a balcony became a sort of social club where to meet people and talk awhile. It sems to be in a typical town of south Italy. I have never been to Naples, but I would like to go there one day.

La mia “clausura” iniziò il 10 marzo 2020. In tutto questo tempo non ho mai smesso di lavorare e di disegnare. Questa è la cronistoria del mio viaggio interiore verso le terre lontane mai viste.

A tempo di flashmob. Ogni giorno ce ne sono almeno 2 o 3 di flash-mob: prima si canta, poi si applaude poi si balla, si suona. Sembra di essere al carnevale di Rio però sei sul balcone di casa. Non si può uscire, fuori c’è il coronavirus.

I cactus sono le uniche piante che riescono a resistere sul balcone esposto a sud di casa mia. Questo “piccoletto” arrivato da poco in una giornata di sole sembra che ricordi della sua patria, il deserto. Sarebbe bello andare a disegnare dal vero un giorno quei ambienti desolati e surreali.
