Ho scelto di accostare un solo colore al nero dell’inchiostro, il rosso. A causa di mancanza di tempo ogni illustrazione è dedicata a 2 o 3 parole della lista.

Dolcetto o scherzetto

Questa illustrazione in realtà non esiste. E’ un frutto dell’accostamento digitale di 2 illustrazioni. La parte dedicata al tema “uh-oh” fu la più sfidante di tutto il challenge. Trovare un soggetto è stato abbastanza difficile dal momento che si trattava di una canzone, ma anche di un verso spaventoso dei fantasmi.

В этом году я выбрала, как всегда, небольшой формат и 2-3 слова на каждую иллюстрацию. Все рисунки выполнены черными чернилами с добавлением деталей красного цвета.

Сладость или гадость?

Эту иллюстрацию вы не найдете в скетчбуке, потому что ее просто не существует. Иллюстрация к Дню всех святых составленна из двух рисунков, из которых этюд на тему “uh-oh” оказался самым трудным во всем челлендже.

La 12^ edizione di Matite in viaggio 2022 “Carnets Disegni Parole” come dalla tradizione viene ospitata nelle sale espositive al 3° piano del Centro Culturale Candiani di Mestre (piazzale Candiani 7, Venezia-Mestre).

Perché matite e perché in viaggio?

Il disegno è stato per secoli l’esclusivo mezzo di documentazione visiva della realtà e come tale divenne lo strumento attraverso il quale esploratori, viaggiatori, studiosi fermarono sulla carta visioni ed esperienze, con precisione quasi calligrafica o con impeto di visionarietà.
I viaggi nei secoli scorsi duravano mesi, anni, a volte una vita ed a volte costavano la vita stessa. Epiche avventure studiate, sognate e preparate a lungo da eruditi e avventurieri, da mercanti e missionari, da gente comune ed esploratori.

Il taccuino per gli schizzi e gli appunti grafici in taluni casi diveniva allora lo strumento stesso attraverso il quale interiorizzare e rielaborare l’esperienza, fissandone la memoria. Originalissimo modo di rappresentare il mondo, perché filtrato dagli occhi dell’autore, attraverso la propria cultura.

Si parte da qui

Le betulle mi accompagnano da sempre. Da quando mi ricordo loro ci sono sempre state. Sono tra gli alberi più diffusi delle pianure est europee e ne ho ritratte tantissime nel corso del viaggio al mio paese natale in autunno del 2021. Poi sono successe tante cose e tante ne devono ancora succedere… Credo fermamente di poterle rivedere presto.

Chi dorme non piglia pesci

La preparazione di una collettiva non è uno scherzo. Tra l’idea, selezione delle opere ed allestimento passano dei mesi. Una volta che ho ricevuto la lieta notizia che sono stata selezionata lo sketchbook andava preparato con i segnalibri per distinguere le opere da esporre, imballato ed infine spedito.

What is “Matite in viaggio”?

Matite in viaggio means “travelling pencils” in Italian. The cultural association “Matite in viaggio” aims to promote the culture of journey and the art of recording its experience, by drawings and words.

Article 3 of the Association statute says “Visiting countries and places, meeting people and communities, understanding ancient and contemporary civilizations are the conditions under which “travel sketchbooks” can express the will and dream to identify with the freedom and dignity of all men”.

The project

The sketchbook on show this year has been created in autumn of 2021 in Moscow region (Russia). It is dedicated to birches in autumn transparent and warmed by the last fall sun.

Birch is one of the most common trees in Europe and north America . You will find it everywhere from USA to Italy and from Ukraine to Russia and Japan.

Вот уже 12 лет выставка Matite in viaggio и одноименная ассоциация ставят перед собой задачу продвижения культуры этюдов с натуры, скетчинга и путевых иллюстрированных заметок. Cовсем в недавнем прошлом путишественники, ученые и просто туристы использовали рисунки и путивые заметки, чтобы рассказать о впечатлениях, диковинных местах и культурах дальних стран.

Отчего так в России березы шумят?

Зарисовки на дачную тему среди берез, дубов и рябин одетых в желтую и красную осеннюю листву входят в скеичбук 2021 года. Для выставки в Венеции я выбрала этюды посвященные самому распространенному дереву средней полосы нашей Родины и, в некотором смысле, символу России, а именно березе. Белоствольные красавицы на фоне кристалльного осеннего неба, оранжевого заката и отблесков редкого октябрьского солнца.

На поготовку международной выставки ушло немало времени от отбора до открытия прошло 6 месяцев работы организаторов и участников. Вот они этапы «большого пути».

Le giornate sono ancora calde, l’umore è ancora alto. E’ il momento giugno per un guardaroba autunnale, ma non troppo. Collezione Art2wear Mix & Match, la collezione che parla il piemontese.

I capi colorati, ironici e funzionali danno il meglio di sé sugli sfondi che raccontano il capoluogo piemontese nel dialetto locale. Le illustrazioni sono state realizzate durante Eurovision 2022.

Un po’ di storia

Il piemontese (nome nativo piemontèis, [pjemʊŋˈtɛi̯z]) è una lingua gallo-italica. Nonostante venisse sovente associato all’italiano e al francese, per via della posizione geo-storica del Piemonte, il piemontese è la lingua di raccordo tra il lombardo e l’occitano ed è parte della memoria storica della colonizzazione gringa della pampa argentina. Il piemontese è riconosciuto fra le lingue minoritarie europee dal 1981 ed è censito dall’UNESCO tra le lingue meritevoli di tutela. Il 15 dicembre 1999 il Consiglio regionale del Piemonte ha ufficialmente riconosciuto il piemontese e nel 2015 ha attivato la versione in piemontese del proprio sito ufficiale.

Lavori in corso

a collezione deve il suo nome al mood che si risperava durante Eurovision: mescolare, contaminare abbinare, contrapporre ed unire. Tutto dalla in tutto dalla scelta dei tessuti ai colori e fantasie.

Torino da visitare

Abito bi-color in tessuto di cotone bianco e blu stampato sullo sfondo del Mote dei cappuccini. Il Monte dei Cappuccini è una collina di 325 m, su di esso, si erge il convento e la chiesa di Santa Maria al Monte, affidato ai frati Cappuccini, da cui il nome.

Spolverino in jeans azzurro impreziosito dai dettagli in pizzo sulle tasche, le maniche svasate e la cintura da utilizzare per dare un tocco di sobria eleganza. Per lo sfondo ho scelto il castello di Valentino. Acquistato da Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia nel 1564, il Castello deve il suo nome alla regione, denominata «Vallantinum» causa territorio segnato dalla presenza di una valle solcata da un corso d’acqua, la bealera del Valentino che tuttora scorre interrata.

Gonna in cotone color amaranto non passa inosservata. Ecco perché ho scelto come la Mole Antonelliana chiamata dai veri torinesi “La Mole”. Il nome significa “edificio monumentale” e deriva dal fatto che, in passato, fu la costruzione in muratura più alta del mondo dal 1889 al 1908. Per anni fu l’edificio più alto di Torino, ma oggi, dopo la costruzione di altre due grattacieli, resta l’edificio più alto del solo profilo centrale urbano della città. Dal 2000 ospita il Museo nazionale del cinema al suo interno.

Torino da mangiare

Completo di tessuto misto lino e cotone con stampe feline. Per lo sfondo di questo modello ho scelto la panna cotta. Si tratta di un dolce di origine piemontese e si presuppone che risalga agli inizi del ‘900. Alcune legende circa l’invenzione della panna cotta, narrerebbero di uno chef cuneese di nome Ettore Songia a metà degli anni sessanta avrebbe messo a punto la ricetta di questo dolce. Ad oggi la panna cotta è diffusa in tutta Italia, dove viene generalmente servita con salsa ai frutti di bosco, caramello o cioccolato.

Maglia manica corta in piquet di cotone rosso arricchita con decorazioni in madreperla sullo sfondo di gianduiotto. Giandujotto (giandojòt in piemontese) è un cioccolatino a forma di prisma a base rettangolare composto con cioccolata denominata gianduia che si produce a Torino. Solitamente è avvolto in carta dorata o argentata. Secondo alcuni il gianduiotto fu prodotto per la prima volta dalla nota società dolciaria torinese Caffarel nello storico stabilimento di Borgo San Donato e presentato al pubblico nel carnevale del 1865 dalla maschera torinese Gianduja, da cui prende il nome, che distribuiva per le strade della città la nuova bontà.

Gonna rosa con stampe tropicali e camicia bianca sullo sfondo di bagna càuda. La bagna càuda [ˈbɑɲa ˈkɑʊ̯da], nome piemontese traducibile come “salsa calda” in italiano, è una tipica specialità gastronomica della cucina piemontese, originaria del Basso Piemonte. La leggenda vuole che il commercio delle acciughe salate fosse un modo per commerciare il sale, evitando così di pagarne gli elevati dazi: mastelli pieni di sale presentavano, al controllo dei gabellieri, nella parte superiore, uno strato di acciughe salate. L'”acciugaio” (ancióaire in lingua piemontese) era il commerciante ambulante che con il tipico carro trainato da cavalli o buoi portava le acciughe in barili.

Abito bianco in cotone e spolverino kimono in spugna azzurra con ricami in strass sullo sfondo di “savoiardi”. I savoiardi prendono il nome dalla regione storica della Savoia, sono biscotti dolci dalla consistenza molto friabile e spugnosa. La forma ricorda un grosso dito e per questa ragione in inglese vengono chiamati lady fingers (“dita di dama”). Sebbene l’origine dei savoiardi sia incerta, alcune fonti la fanno risalire a un dolce avente il medesimo impasto, il gâteau de Savoie, creato intorno alla metà del XIV secolo dallo chef di Amedeo VI di Savoia, in onore della visita dell’imperatore Carlo IV di Lussemburgo.

Torino con parole sue

Abito di cotone bianco e borsa di spugna arancione fluo arricchiti con decorazioni di paillette e perline sullo sfondo con la parola “cerea”. E’ una espressione tipicamente piemontese che non ha corrispettivi nella lingua nazionale. Era in origine una forma di saluto reverenziale. Per la teoria più accreditata il saluto piemontese deriva dall’espressione “Saluto alla Signoria Vostra”, con alterazione della parola “Signoria” che nel parlato popolare è diventata sereia, serea.

Borsa shopper in cotone denim sullo sfondo di “merenda senoira”. Si tratta di usanza tutta piemontese. Sinoira deriva da “sina”, ossia cena nel dialetto piemontese, infatti si colloca proprio tra l’orario dello spuntino pomeridiano e quello del pasto serale. In origine veniva praticata dai contadini durante le lunghe giornate di lavoro estive o nel periodo della vendemmia, quando fra le 17 e le 18 avevano bisogno di rifocillarsi per poter continuare a lavorare fino al calar del sole. Solitamente i cibi che si portavano erano dettati dalla praticità di poter essere mangiati in modo veloce senza bisogno di sedersi a tavola.

Making moments

Torino places

Dress in cotton white and blue printed fabric. On the background we can see Monte dei Cappuccini, letteraly “the Capuchins’ hill”. On the this hill overlooking the River Po in Torino (Italy) there is the Church of Santa Maria al Monte built for the Capuchin Order.

On the background you can see the “Valentino” castle and the park in Torino (Italy). The ancient castle was bought by Duke Emmanuel Philibert of Savoy. The name Valentino, first mentioned in 1275, seems to derive from a saint called Valentine whose relics were venerated in a church which stood nearby.

Cotton dark orange skirt with blouse. I have chosen for the background of this style the Mole Antonelliana [ˈmɔːle antonelˈljaːna] named after its architect, Alessandro Antonelli. A “mole” in Italian means a building of monumental proportions.
Originally conceived of as a synagogue, it has housed the National Museum of Cinema since 2000, and is believed to be the tallest museum in the world.

Torino tastes

Set in beige mixed linen and cotton printed fabric with “panna cotta” as a background. The Region of Piedmont includes panna cotta in its 2001 list of traditional food products of the region. One unverified story says that it was invented by a Hungarian woman in the Langhe in the early 1900s. An 1879 dictionary mentions a dish called latte inglese ‘English milk’, it could also come from the French recipe of fromage bavarois from Marie-Antoine Carême. Actually, this recipe that we can find in le pâtissier royal parisien is almost the same as the modern panna cotta.

For this style ha have chosen “giandujotto” as a background. The gianduiotto ( [dʒanduˈjɔtto]; Piedmontese: giandojòt [dʒaŋdʊˈjɔt]) is chocolate originally from Piedmont, they are shaped as ingots. It is a specialty of Turin (Italy), and takes its name from gianduja, the preparation of chocolate and hazelnut used for gianduiotti and other sweets (including Nutella and bicerin di Gianduiotto). This preparation itself is named after Gianduja, a mask in commedia dell’arte, a type of Italian theater, that represents the archetypal Piedmontese. Indeed, Gianduja’s hat inspired the shape of the gianduiotto.

Bagna càuda [ˈbɑɲa ˈkɑʊ̯da] is a hot dish made from garlic and anchovies, originating in Piedmont, Italy, during the 16th century. The dish is served and consumed in a manner similar to fondue, sometimes as an appetizer, with raw or cooked vegetables typically used to dip into it. It is prepared using olive oil, chopped anchovies and garlic

Mid white cotton dress and light blue sponge jacket with pallette details. I have chosen “savoyardi” biscuits for the background. Savoiardi [savoˈjardi] are similar to Ladyfingers sponge fingers. They are shaped like a large finger. Ladyfingers originated in the late 15th century at the court of the Duchy of Savoy and were created to mark the occasion of a visit by the King of France. Later, they were given the name Savoiardi and recognized as an “official” court biscuit.

I have chosen the world “cerea” of piedmont language. “cerea” mens “see you”. This greeting used typically in Torino does not have similar in Italian language. The legend tells that a cadet of the king boasted to know Greek and greeted everyone with “chaire” (light/ joy in Greek). People wanted to please the king and started to repeat the greeting. With time “chaire” became “cerea”.

Let’s start from the name, sinoira, which derives from “sina” that stands for dinner in Piedmontese dialect. It is a big snack, almost dinner. A tradition that recalls the peasant Piedmont of the mid-nineteenth century, days spent in the fields, rhythms of work marked by a few breaks: lunch, often consumed in the countryside, without returning home. And then, towards the end of the afternoon, the merenda sinoira. At the end of the 19th century even the bourgeois and noblemen offered the merenda sinoira, especially in summer, in their villas in the countryside.

mm2201 – Платье из белого и сине-белого хлопка с принтом на фоне «монте дэй каппучини» (monte dei cappuccini) в Турине (Италия).

Название холма дословно переводится «гора капуцинов» и связано с церковью Святой Марии и моностырем ордина капуцинов.

mm2202 – Легкий плащ из синего джинса с круживными вставками на карманах на фоне замка Валентино в Турине (Италия).

Замок Валентино (итал. Castello del Valentino, пьем. Castel dël Valentin) — одна из туринских резиденций Савойского дома, получила название от близлежащей церкви св. Валентина. В настоящее время в здании размещается архитектурный факультет. Двор замка с 1713 года приспособлен под университетский ботанический сад.

Юбка средней длинны из плотного хлопка на фоне башни Ла Моле (Mole Antonelliana), как ее называют коренные туринцы.
Здание считается одним из самых высоких кирпичных сооружений в Европе, до 1908 оно было самым высоким в мире. Строительство начал архитектор Алессандро Антонелли. Когда-то давно банья кауда был неотъемлемой частью трапезы большинства итальянцев и присутствовал на столах по любому случаю, – будь то праздник или будни.

Белое хлопковое платье средней длинны и голубой педжак кимано из махровой ткани с вышивкой из бисера и страс на фоне печения «савоярди». Савоя́рди (Savoiardi — «савойские», также «дамские пальчики») — бисквитное печенье вытянутой плоской формы, сверху покрытое крупинками сахара. Савоярди были придуманы при дворе герцогов Савойских в конце XV века по случаю визита короля Франции и вскоре получили статус «официального» печенья Савойи.

Сарафан из белого хлопка и сумочука среднего размера из махровой хлопковой ткани украшенные фигурками морских жителей их страз и бисера.

Этот комплект представлен на фоне слова «череа», что означает «до скорого» на пьемонтском диалекте. По официальной версии это приветствие появилось при сокращении в устной речи фразы “Saluto alla Signoria Vostra”, слово “signoria” со временем превратилось в sereia, serea и cerea.

Сумка из джинсовой ткани на фоне надписи “меренда сенойра”. Marenda sinoira — так в Пьемонте называется прием пищи, представляющий собой очень плотный полдник. Здесь слово marenda происходит от латинского слова полдник, а слово sinoira — от слова “sina”, на пьемонтском диалекте означающего “ужин”. Раньше среди крестьян широко был распространен прием пищи около 17 часов для восстановления сил после утренних и дневных работ перед вечерними работами до 21 часа. На севере Италии говорят: Святой Иосиф приносит полдник в пплатке, святой Михаил уносит полдник в небо – крестьянский обычай употреблять полдник между днями святого Иосифа и святого Михаила (в сентябре).

Per ennesima volta torno nella mia amata Toscana vicino a Lamporecchio e Vinci. Sketchbook Toscana 2022 è stato acquistato a Vinci e raccoglie sotto la copertina di pelle lavorata a mano i fogli minuscoli 3×3 cm. E’ nato qui, in Toscana e qui è tornato per essere riempito con le atmosfere della patria di Leonardo… appunto, da Vinci.

Il mini album è stato acquistato insieme ad altri 3 sketchbook della stessa misura confezionati a mano. Uno di loro ora ospita le illustrazioni dedicate a Eurovision di Torino con il contorno del dialetto piemontese.

A gradi linee

Quest’anno vorrei essere più sintetica. Mi sono esercitata con The 100 day project ed ora proverò a rendere le atmosfere di questa terra in misura da francobollo.

Ricordi degli anni passati

Eccoli, i ricordi degli anni passati in Toscana. Qui, a Lamporecchio, a Vinci a Larciano e Fucecchio. Molti di questi album fanno parte delle collezioni private. Le cartoline sono orma partite ed arrivate.

Nuovo inizio

Si dice che tutte le strade portano a Roma. Invece tutti o quasi miei album di viaggi sono nati qui in Toscana a Vinci. Anche quest’anno sono arrivati tre nuovi sketchbook da riempire. Stessi colori delle copertine in pelle, stessa carta lavorata ed assemblata a mano e stessa misura sfidante 3×3 cm.
